Isabel (they/them, she/her) is a Certified Intimacy Coordinator (IPA), Performer, Visual Storyteller, and Mental Health Coordinator in Training (AMHC), committed to fostering safety, trust, and creative freedom in storytelling.
Isabel takes a trauma-informed approach to their work, ensuring that performers feel supported navigating complex emotional material while upholding the director’s creative vision. Her experience in independent film and theatre has given Isabel a strong understanding of how to balance ethical storytelling while managing time and budget constraints.
With a background in social work and mental health support, Isabel is especially equipped for working with sensitive and provocative content, but also challenging or uncomfortable material, prioritizing clear communication, consent, and care without compromising artistic integrity. Isabel is kink-friendly and works with creatives of all age groups.
As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, they are passionate about uplifting marginalized voices and adapting their approach to meet the diverse needs of all performers. Certified in First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and Safeguarding Children, Isabel is well-resourced to hold space with professionalism and care.
Their skill set extends to facilitating workshops, developing safe-set protocols and consulting production teams on their projects. Isabel has also worked in character design, makeup, and filmmaking with expertise across various roles. They thrive in the collaborative process.
Their credits include New Zealand and international productions such as Holy Days and collaborations with film collectives like One Dollar Genre. They have also worked as an Intimacy Director with the University of Canterbury (MUSOC and Drama Soc), schools and various theatre performance spaces.
Fluent in English and German, Isabel thrives in diverse cultural settings and is currently based in Berlin, Germany. Both a resident of Aotearoa New Zealand and Germany, Isabel is available to travel for projects worldwide.
